CIA Targeting Analyst
Work Schedule: Full Time
The Central Intelligence Agency's
Directorate of Intelligence (DI) is looking for candidates to serve as
targeting analysts. Targeting analyst positions involve research,
analysis, writing, and briefing using network analysis techniques and
specialized analytic tools to identify and detail key figures and
organizations who may pose a threat to US interests. Target analyst
positions are available focusing on many regional areas including the
Middle East, East Asia, South Asia, Europe, and Latin America, and on
several functional topics or nonstate actors including proliferation,
narcotics trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, and cyber threats.
This work demands initiative, creativity, analytical skills, and some
technical expertise or aptitude. Targeting analysts produce a range of
current and longer-term intelligence products, brief key US
policymakers, and regularly provide tactical analytic support to law
enforcement, US military consumers, and intelligence operations. Agency
analysts are encouraged to maintain and broaden professional ties
through academic study, contacts, and attendance at professional
meetings. They may also choose to pursue additional studies in fields
relevant to their areas of responsibility. Opportunities exist for
foreign travel, language training, analytic and management training, and
assignments in other offices in the Agency and throughout the US
Government.
