Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from Legat assignment.
Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position through a competitive or non-competitive action may be
precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau by means of reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months.

Travel:

May require national and international travel.

Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a laboratory setting which may involve regular, recurring exposure to hazardous materials, toxic substances, and blood borne pathogens.Incumbents are expected to follow safe laboratory practices and wear protective clothing, including facial masks, safety glasses, gloves, and use fume flow hoods as warranted.

Physical Demands:

The work requires manual dexterity, flexibility and some assignments which require considerable, strenuous physical exertion, which may require lifting of objects of-up-to fifty (50) pounds or more.Much of the time is spent inventorying and
processing evidence which requires walking, bending, stretching, crawling and lifting.

KEY REQUIREMENTS: U.S. Citizenship Required

Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.

Serving as a Special Agent is a very demanding job with strict entry requirements. Please review closely all requirements to ensure that you qualify before you apply.

To become an FBI Special Agent:

- You must be a U.S. citizen or a citizen of the Northern Mariana Islands.
- You must be at least 23 years of age, but younger than 37 upon your appointment as a Special Agent.
- You must possess a four-year degree from a college or university accredited by one of the regional or national institutional associations recognized by the United States Secretary of Education.
- You must have at least three years of professional work experience. You must also possess a valid driver's license and be completely available for assignment anywhere in the FBI's jurisdiction.

All applicants for the Special Agent position must first qualify under one of five Special Agent Entry Programs. These programs include:

-Language
-Law
-Diversified
